Meet the Department

Mrs. Mallory Chandler

Welcome! My name is Mallory Chandler, I will be your Librarian for the 2022-2023 school year! I look forward to having you in the Library where we will learn how to check out books, research, work on projects, read and learn about different types of books and authors, and gain a love for reading.

I have a wonderful family at home that I love so much. I live in a house full of boys, my husband Kody, Walker, and Rhett. We have four German Shepherds- Kotton, Baliey, Sophie, and Stella. I am from Hernando, but made my move to the Delta in 2011 to pursue my degree in Education. I have enjoyed and come to love the Delta over the past 11 years, and I am proud to call it home now!

I am a graduate of Delta State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with endorsements in Special Education and Library Media Specialist. I also received my Masters of Education in Elementary from Delta State University. This will be my 9th year in education and my 4th year as the Librarian at Pearman Elementary.

I enjoy spending time with my boys doing all things outdoors. We love to ride around on backroads, tend to our farm animals, play in the yard and in the water, and go on adventures to see family and friends. I also love retail therapy-shopping is my favorite! As a Librarian, a special interest I have is reading, children's books are my favorite. I love reading stories to my boys every chance we get. Eric Carle is one of my favorite author/illustrator's because he assists in the writing of his books, as well as the illustrations- which are all made from tissue paper-my favorite art assignment in college was this!
